Walk your way to fitness

Walk for Skin
After the stresses and excesses of the party season and the harsh effects
of the weather, you may be feeling run down and tired, your skin –
reflecting how you feel – may be looking even more drained! The New
Year is the perfect time for new starts and resolutions. Many of us will
pledge to lose half-a-stone, join the gym or recharge our careers, but if
you want a more realistic challenge, then make a new start this New Year
for your skin.
Skincare experts Sanex, are marking 2007 as the year to
celebrate healthy skin by supporting the Walk For Skin (13 and 20 May 2007). Sanex understands your skin and how it works and is working
with the British Skin Foundation to promote the importance of healthy skin.
The Walk For Skin is a series of sponsored walks held in various locations
around the UK. Organised by the British Skin Foundation research charity,
the event brings together some 5,000 members of the public, alongside
well-known skin charities.
Why Walk for Skin?
The skin is the body’s largest organ, so you need to look after it to keep
it healthy.
Your skin is also unique. It paints a picture of who you are and where
you’ve come from, patterned by various marks and lines that tell a story of
your life and your personality. You can tell a lot about a person from
their skin, and everyone’s skin tells a different story.
Skin Facts
- The average adult has 2 square metres (21 square feet) of skin weighing
over 3Kg (7lb) and has approximately 300 million skin cells.
- Your skin is alive and constantly growing from the bottom upwards
- Dead skin cells are shed from the skin’s surface. It takes between 52 to
75 days for your skin to completely renew itself
Skin Myth
The more expensive a product, the better it will be for your skin
Nina Goad, the British Skin Foundation, says “Generally, it’s a matter of personal taste when it comes to choosing the best products for your skin. Be aware that spending lots of money does not guarantee superior results for your skin type.”
All Sanex products have dermo active formulations that work with your skin’s natural processes, rather than just sitting on the surface, to help keep it healthy and working at its natural best. The products are dermatologically tested, soap
free, alcohol free, pH balanced, and suitable for the whole family
