What is Smartlipo?
SmartLipo is the latest laser lipolysis which uses a laser to remove areas of unwanted fat, instead of the high pressure vacuum used in traditional liposuction.
During a SmartLipo treatment, a fine 1.5 mm canula is inserted under the skin under local anaesthetic. The laser then breaks down the fat into a liquid debris by rupturing the fat cell wall. The broken down fat can then either be removed with gentle aspiration or for smaller areas just left to be safely and simply eliminated by natural means.
The laser also stimulates collagen growth, helping achieve a smooth, sculptured look.

The SmartLipo Procedure
The procedure itself sometimes takes as little as 45 minutes and most patients stay in the clinic as liitle as an hour after the procedure. All SmartLipo treatments are performed using only local anaesthetc. You will therefore be awake. Most find the procedure pain-free and comfortable. Some experience some discomfort and sometimes minor stinging,
Aftercare
After having a SmartLipo treatment, patients wear a special compression garment for seven to 10 days to help minimise bruising and swelling. Antibiotics are also usually given to reduce the risk of infection.
We recommend eating a sensible low fat diet, drinking plenty of water and maintaining an active lifestyle, however it isn't advisable to take part in any strenuous sports for seven to ten days. You may experience some swelling during the first few days, and possibly also some mild discomfort or bruising, which will subside after one to three weeks.

Overall cost depends on the extent of the treatment and the number of areas you have. One treatment of SmartLipo and can range from £1,500 to £4000.
